At Malvern, we offer Securities-Based Lending (SBL), which is the practice of making loans using marketable securities as collateral. You can use stocks or other marketable securities to obtain loans for anything you want to accomplish for personal or business purposes. SBL allows you to retain the future ownership of the assets as well as leverage the present value of your securities for immediate cash needs.

For accounts held in custody by Malvern (either directly or via our broker dealer) we can extend sufficient credit to initiate an exercise of options. By borrowing enough cash to exercise your stock options, you can immediately sell enough of the resulting stock to cover the amount borrowed, along with any accrued interest or fees. You can then use the remainder of the equity to build your investment portfolio.
If you decide to exercise your options and postpone selling until the shares are received, we can loan you up to 50% of the stock’s current market value to pay for the exercise cost. Once shares are received in your account and sold, we credit you with the available funds on settlement date, less any fees and accrued debit interest on the amount loaned.
Malvern provides cross-collateral mortgages that can be used as pledged securities in connection with a down payment to permit financing. Pledging assets, such as securities, may be used as collateral for the purpose of securing debt. These securities would not have to be sold for the down payment, allowing for continued capital appreciation while maintaining the mortgage benefit.
We also specialize in a variety of commercial loans to meet your business needs. They can range from a mortgage for a building such as a warehouse, industrial property, multifamily apartment, office building, shopping center, or medical office to a term loan for equipment or a line of credit to manage your cash flow. Our loan officers have, on average, 20 years of commercial lending experience and can make recommendations on all aspects of the loan terms.
Providing a transaction has financial merit, Malvern can offer a variety of structures for acquisition financing. Bridge financing, construction, and land acquisition loans are also available.
