Malvern Bank’s "Money Matters"

One Year Later...

March 19, 2021

Hello,

Last week was a watershed moment. As we marked the one-year anniversary of the first Covid-19 lockdown, we no doubt considered the many challenges we faced living through a global pandemic. But by the end of the week, we also watched as the Dow Jones and S&P 500 reached new record highs.

Also last week, President Joe Biden signed the $1.9 trillion economic stimulus bill into law, which includes new checks for up to $1,400 per person as well as other credits. This news may affect many aspects of your financial plan, including taxes and investment opportunities.

(Speaking of taxes and investment opportunities, the deadline to make an individual retirement account contribution that will decrease your 2020 tax bill or even boost your refund is April 15, 2021. If you’re interested in learning how an IRA could part of your investment portfolio, contact Malvern Bank at 610-644-9400.)

We’ve come through a lot in the past year. Looking back over these times, what have you learned, and what has kept you going? I'd love to talk about how we can reflect what you've learned over the past year and any new goals you may have in your financial strategy.

The articles below can answer some of the common stimulus bill questions. You can also go to the Internal Revenue Service website to learn details about 2021 Economic Impact Payments, including frequently asked questions, by clicking on this link.

If you’d like to talk more about how it can benefit your plan directly, please reach out.

Have a great week.

Sincerely,

Anthony C. Weagley
